A WEIGHT-watching Dachshund from Witham got a taste of fame when she sampled some healthy snacks on ITV’s This Morning.
Maisie the miniature wirehaired Dachshund was served a peanut butter ice lolly and some baked apple slices by presenter Christine Bleakley and even got a tickle from Diversity’s Ashley Banjo.
Owner Melanie Harmer, of Church Street, Witham, was whisked to the London studios last Wednesday with Maisie and her other smooth-haired Dachshund, Amber, after applying to be in a feature about homemade dog food.
After being chauffeur-driven to the studios, they bumped into Ashley in a corridor and took selfies with Bruce Forsyth, whose dressing room was opposite.
Maisie, six, taste-tested her treats in front of Phillip Schofield and Christine, but showed her cheeky side by digging into a fellow canine guest’s meal while live on air.
Miss Harmer, 48, said the day was a fitting treat for the dogs, who mean so much to her.
