MORE transport links have been created to get Braintree students to a college.

Parents of children attending Stoke College in Sudbury can now take advantage of the transport network after its coverage was extended.

The Stoke College mini bus services ensures students have a safe and secure way to travel between school and home.

The new routes add to the three services that are already operational.

Frank Thompson, Headmaster of Stoke College, said: “We have children attending Stoke College from all three bordering counties and ensuring these children arrive to school and back home safely is one of our priorities.

"As we now have more children attending from Essex, Suffolk and Cambridge, it was necessary to extend our current transport network to accommodate these students and their families.”

The current routes provided by Stoke College offer safe and easy transport for children between school and Cambridge, Sudbury and Dunmow.

The routes of these mini buses vary depending on the children that are using the service.

The new extended routes mean the dedicated transport network will now serve Cambridge via Haverhill and Horseheath, Sudbury via Glemsford and Long Melford and Great Dunmow via Braintree, Finchingfield and Great Saling.

Further routes from Saffron Walden and Newmarket will shortly be introduced following an increase in the number of children attending Stoke College from these towns.

The service is paid for on a per term basis and if you would like to use Stoke College’s minibus service call 01787 278 141 and speak with the registrar.
