THREE people need hospital treatment following a collision on a major road near Braintree.

It was previously reported there was a multi-vehicle crash on the A120 eastbound on the afternoon of Thursday, April 11.

The collision led to delays and the road being closed between the B1018 and the A131 while emergency services worked at the scene.

A spokesman for Essex Police confirmed they attended the incident.

They said: "We were called to a collision on the A120 between Galley’s Corner towards Mark’s Farm in Braintree shortly after 3.10pm on Thursday, April 11.

"We arrived alongside emergency services colleagues and the road was closed whilst the incident was dealt with and vehicle recovery was carried out.

"No arrests have been made and no serious injuries were reported.

"The road was re-opened shortly before 4.45pm."

A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3.16pm with reports of a collision on the A120, Braintree.

"We sent the hazardous area response team, three ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle.

"Three people were taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care."
