A NEW home with more than 70 bedrooms for patients who need specialist care has now launched in Braintree.

Braintree Mews, in Church Lane, launched in April after an official grand opening event.

The care home provides care for those who need residential, dementia, or short-term respite care.

During the opening event, community members gathered at the facility for food, and live entertainment provided by harpist Patricia Spera and vocalist Cara Bo.

Home manager Alexander Bragg said: “I would like to thank everyone for making our grand opening so memorable.

“To all the businesses, the public, our residents and their families - without you the event would not have been as amazing as it was.

“The day was a great success, enjoyed by all, and enabled us to showcase ourselves as true leaders in luxury care services for Braintree and the surrounding areas.

“We look forward to continuing our growing success over the coming months and we will be working closely with the whole community to achieve this goal.”

The home is run by Avery Healthcare which owns 90 homes across the UK.

Residents also have many different facilities, including landscaped gardens, a hair salon, cinema , therapy suite, cafe and a library.

Outgoing Braintree Council chairman Diana Garrod and incoming chairman Lyn Walters cut the ribbon to officially opened the home.

Mrs Garrod said: “I was delighted to officially open the Braintree Mews Care Home alongside Councillor Walters and receive a tour of the building, as well as meeting the lovely staff and their residents.

“I was particularly pleased to see that additional considerations had been undertaken for residents’ privacy, such as the discreet lockable medical cabinets in each room.

“It is indeed a lovely building with lots of facilities for people to enjoy their twilight years.”

Rooms cost £1,395 a week.
