Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire is hoping to bring in a new player this week.

He was disappointed with how his team performed in a 3-2 defeat at Lincoln City on Saturday, saying he may be looking to make changes and even though the Iron boss was happier after their Bank Holiday Monday win, he admitted he was still hoping to secure a new signing.

Speaking after his team beat Nuneaton 2-0 for their second Vanarama Conference Premier win of the season on Monday, Devonshire is now waiting to hear if his plans will come to fruition.

“I’m always looking improve the team,” he said.

“You can’t stand still and I’m hoping one will come in this week if they accept what we’ve put in.”

Braintree head to Alfreton Town in the Vanarama Conference Premier on Saturday.
