Braintree Town manager Danny Cowley isn’t ruling out further loan additions to his squad, but is keen to work with the players that he already has and believes can do well in the Vanarama National League this year.

The transfer window closed on Tuesday without any more business for Braintree, but National League managers will still able to bring in loan players if they want to.

Cowley said he will continue looking at potential loanees to join Will Norris, Tom Dallison and Jordan Chiedozie at the Iron, however, he isn’t a boss who will make changes for the sake of it.

“I think you’re always looking,” he told the Times.

“You’d be doing the club a disservice if you didn’t look, but we have a good group and we know where we’re at.

“There are certain frailties that we have to keep working on and that’s something we have to do.

“I know a lot of non-league managers who think the grass is always greener and when they have disappointments or defeats, they look to change personnel.

“But we like to work with what we have got.

“That’s always been our way and we have a lot of belief and faith in the players.

“So we’ll continue to work hard with them.”

Braintree will be looking to bounce back from the Bank Holiday disappointment they suffered with a 2-1 defeat by Aldershot Town as they return to National League action at Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.

Cowley added: “We look forward to going there because Kidderminster are a big club at this level.

“It will be a tough game, there’s no doubt about that, but we have won our last two away games so we’ve been good on the road and we’ll look to be competitive again on Saturday.

“We had the Monday game, but our preparation will be normal with having them in three times in the week, so they’ll be in on Thursday.

“However, it does give us an extra day to do some prep on Kidderminster, which is good and we’ll work hard in formulating a game plan to do well.”
