THERE were podium successes for Braintree Kickboxing Academy fighters when they attended the WKU British Championships.
The Braintree club had two adults in action, with James Chester claiming a silver medal in the K1 full contact category, only missing out on the gold to current under-90kg British champion Gabriel Fluter.
And there was further podium joy as Dan Goode entered the light continuous category and came away with a bronze medal.
Braintree Kickboxing Academy also had a fighter earn success at another major competition - the Cimac British Open.
Seb Buckley claimed first place in his category, with the 15-year-old Braintree fighter delighted to earn gold in his first competitive outing since recovering from a broken finger.
There was then a further medal haul for Braintree Academy students at the Norfolk Open when five fighters came away with two golds, a silver and two bronzes among them.
Eight-year-old Jack Patston and Andy Crow took bronze medals, while Curtis Free claimed silver, with the 12-year-old only missing out on gold to a 17-year-old opponent in the final.
However, Buckley and Goode did make it to the top step of the podium as they claimed gold medals.
