Braintree Town manager Jamie Day has got his man between the sticks by completing the signing of Hemel Hempstead Town goalkeeper Jamie Butler.

The Iron have paid an undisclosed fee for the 24-year-old to the Vanarama National League South side.

Day said: "I've long been impressed with Jamie and he has done really well over the last couple of years.

"Stepping up to the National League level will be a great opportunity for him.

"He'll be an important part of the spine of our side."

Butler started his career at Met Police before moving on to Concord Rangers in 2014.

His impressive form for the Canvey Island side saw him included in the England C squad two years ago, before moving to Hemel Hempstead last season.
